- each of the witches is assigned a 'pet monster'
- different positions in the coven - warrior, bureaucrat, judge, 'mother', caretaker, etc
- the story coven witches can shape-shift into plans to hide in the woods, and snakes of the region (i need to pick a region idk)
- with important positions they get an emblem that no one else has ever had before, and a name that's some bullshit language title thing

- some witches aren't in covens they just work on their own because why not, and they can have normal families too
- the covens are widespread and very diverse, only some are internationally known or considered important
- the coven of this story is in some remote territory in the woods but it's not that far away from civilization
- the coven is old as fuck, some witches age normally, but the more powerful ones in the place of leadership live longer because they often steal life from people to increase theirs
- younger witches have to answer to the older ones
- should a witch want to have the position as mother, they either inherit it or challenge the current mother to a death match thing

- the coven's previous 'mother' killed all her own sisters and challenged their biological mother, who was also killed
- so the new mother split the coven between her four daughters and fucked off to god knows where
- they steal men to make babies, and they turn the baby daddys + male babies into pet monsters for the girls
- the witches don't ever see men as being on their level, who cares about them

- each of the four sisters has their own sub-coven and they gather together in a council from time to time
- they live in the woods and they are shady as fuck but they travel to cities and have fun too yay
