It's a world where science has evolved to a point where gene modification becomes a luxury for humans. There are two major companies that sell their services toward making people perfect - or simply different - and the richer societies shift and warp themselves according to the new idea of what it is to be desirable. Those companies are LION (Last Improvement of Neohumanity) and Progress. Eventually, certain people decide they don't want humanity to be messed with. Aside from pointing out all the flaws in this system and the real harm it causes to people as a whole, certain modifications go terribly, horribly wrong. Then there are those who use the gene modifications for things other than appearance: supernatural abilities. Dreams and nightmares both come true alike with all these new possibilities, though the vast majority of them are hidden either in the highest positions or those considered to come last on the food chain. In order to keep their business going, the leading company LION decides to develop a secret program called Bloodhound, in which subjects are altered to be able to track down fellow genmods, bring them back to the facility and, after categorizing, kill them off. GLOSSARY LIONs - Last Improvement Of Neohumanity, the leading company in legal genmods. Typical shady shit, only care about money and world domination. Progress - The other leading company, but not really as influential as LION. Bloodhound - Genmods created to track and hunt other genmods. They all share that ability in common, and are able to 'see' into an illegal genmod through an eye situated at the very back of their mouths. link, possibly disturbing image ) Genmod - Anyone who has had their genes modified, be it for appearance only (which is generally considered legal) or ability-wise (which is considered illegal, therefore you can get done if you pay a lot of cash). |
