MADAME KLEIN'S SCHOOL
FOR POSSESSED GIRLS

Welcome to our world, because I'm too lazy to come up with anything more complex than that. Catholic-religious themes are even more widespread than your average, and gothic architecture is pretty much everywhere. People dress in darker colors, the sky is shrouded in clouds, the days are short and things go bump in the night.

Among humans walk the demon-gods, entities from Down Below that have made their way to our realm to inhabit our bodies. No one knows why they pick vessels other than so they can physically interact with our world, jumping from generation to generation to perpetuate their existence. Monsters and possessed people are widespread knowledge, but it's not something you see on the evening news every night. The girls who are possessed know about it, their families know about it, the victims of possessed boys and monsters know about it, but in some places they're still just a rumor.

Madame Klein's School for Possessed Girls, situated in France's countryside, is pretty much the only place in the world that caters to the needs of these girls, which shows how rare they are. In most countries, possessed girls are either institutionalized, or they try to get a priest to exorcise them. While people know it's a reality, they are still lacking a lot in correct information about it.

It is unknown what makes a girl or boy eligible to the demon-gods. There is still few information about it, and not many studies have been conducted to better understand what is going on. If you're chosen, you're chosen, and that's it. There are ways to know if a girl is really possessed or if it's something else - a ritual that draws out the demon-god for communication, or a demonstration of the demon-god's power.

Their powers can manifest in one of many ways. Each demon-god should have an unique name and ability, like telekinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. It's up to you to decide what your demon-god (and consequently, what the girl) does, what its name is, what its personality is like.

Demon-gods basically drain the energy out of their vessels, so a girl without treatment will die of exhaustion/insomnia/self-harm/etc. This is what the school provides - a way to control your demon-god, a way to access their power without letting it drain you of yours. Boys simply don't have the strength to be vessels, so when a demon-god picks them, they're are guaranteed to die within months. Their death isn't permanent, however; they come back as something worse, a mutation between human and the remnants of darkness left behind by the demon. They're undead beings with monstrous features and a hunger for human flesh and destruction.

Once a demon-god is attached to a body, they cannot leave it until the body dies.

So what is Madame Klein's School for Possessed Girls? A haven, you could say. A military school for girls to fight against demon-gods and the monsters they create. A research facility to learn more about what's happening to them and the ones they love. There is no cure for possession, only treatment; they make this clear from the get-go to the families that leave their daughters with Madame Klein.

The girls are given a proper education, with a side of self-defense and power manipulation to learn how to fight for themselves and against the dangers of Down Below. The girls learn how to control their demon-god, how to win their favor and make it bow to them. Powers vary from demon-god to demon-god, from girl to girl, so no one possession is exactly the same. Some girls suffer more with their identity's dissonance than others, and some demon-gods are simply too powerful to be controlled. Some of these demon-gods take over control of a girl's body completely.

Monsters and demon-gods cannot be wiped from existence, but they can be contained. The school guards a vast collection of stones and jars with trapped monsters and demon-gods in them. No one knows what spurs more of them into existence, no one knows how to completely wipe them. For now.

You could say the school is also part religious - but they pray to a different entity. It is a symbol of enlightenment, the one they send lost souls to once they are destroyed. It is said that this god walks among us as well, jumping from body to body. Madame Klein has dedicated her life to finding Its vessel, believing that he or she will bring salvation to them all - a cure.

The headmistress of the school, Ms Talbot has been a number one student her entire life. From her days in a regular school to the moment she was possessed and found by Mme Klein, all Roberta has aspired to is being the best she can be. While she was never the most skilled fighter, she has made her way to the top of the school at a young age because she has proven herself to be trustworthy and genuinely cares for her fellow girls. Everyone knows Ms Talbot, and only a rare few don't have any reasons to like her. She can be sweet and stern, and only uses her demon-god's power when absolutely necessary.

Her demon-god is called Herem. It is quiet but demanding, and it has taken Roberta a lot of control to keep him under her power. Together they can move objects with their mind.

Bleached hair and a potty mouth, Jewell was brought in to the school when it was almost too late. Her parents barely knew what to do with her before Mme Klein stepped in and explained that their daughter wasn't completely beyond repair after all. Jewell has fared relatively well in the school, able to control her demon-god and enthusiastic about managing weapons and kicking some ass. She is the first one to volunteer to a mission, but don't expect her to get along with any of the other girls. She'd rather work solo, if it were completely up to her.

Her demon-god is called Aquei, a skittish and vicious creature that likes to take things apart and leave them scattered for someone else to trip on. Aquei often gets on Jewell's nerves, which is why she enjoys having control over his ability to manipulate people's physical sensations. Together they can make you believe you're in ecstasy as easily as they can make you feel like your insides are on fire.

Adopted at the age of six, Phoebe became the second child of a modest middle-class family of (eventually) four. The only girl, Phoebe was always expect to be the mother of sorts in any event. Polite, quiet and caring, she was a good student and a good fencing athlete. Nobody expected when she was found guilty for setting the house on fire and killing their mother in the process. The psychotic outbreak made her older brother (the only one that thought something was amiss) to take her to different hospitals and specialists. She went through various psychiatrists and hospices, even going as far as alternative methods for healing her affliction, but nothing seemed to work. When giving up soon seemed to be the only option, however, one of the doctors that was treating Phoebe came across Madame Klein's School for Possessed Girls and sent her there. Quiet but not shy, Phoebe fools many about her complexity by keeping her head low and mantaining a position of observer more than participant unless necessary.

Ohrnä, the demon-god inside her is a monster of fire. Creating flames and pyrokinesis are just the tip of the iceberg; it can manipulate various sources of heat and make any surface it touches burn and melt and even control Phoebe's body temperature. It is a devious thing full of lust and fire, impulsive and ravenous. It can still overcome her a lot, although not because of her calm nature, rather for the fact that it is a powerful beast. Most would not be able to have as much time as themselves as she does.

A recent arrival, young Katie stood out when she revealed her ability to emulate virtually any person, regardless of gender, size and age. Her demon-god would often possess her to take her on wild adventures, and it wasn't until she went missing for three months that her parents drew in the attention of an entire nation to get their little girl back. Turns out she had no memory of ever missing when she was found by Madame Klein's girls, diagnosed and brought in to control her demon-god and take advantage of its power, lest it take advantage of her again.

Her demon-god's name is Syhon, an ambitious and loud monster that likes to have fun and indulge in everything humans have to offer. It has hopped from girl to girl for generations, robbing them of their entire life just so it can have one of its own.

Raised by her single mother, Selene, Lillianna was a cheerful and outgoing child who loved going to school and spending time with the relatives they lived with. While she was sometimes bullied for being poor and a bit quirky, she did her best to take things in stride. When she was twelve that all changed when her mother began to show signs of mental distress and within a year suffered a full psychotic breakdown where she attempted to take Lillianna's life. While her uncle was able to intervene in time to save her, he was unable to stop Selene from killing herself. It wasn't too long after that that Lily began to show similar warning signs like her mother among other... odd problems. It took the strange death of her bullies and the following mental meltdown before she was referred to Madame Kleins school. The sudden evaporation of water from within the body will typically grab one's attention. Now Lily is a more quiet, solitary girl who prefers to turn her back to others and shut out the world as it makes it easier to control her demon.

Lily's demon calls himself Apollinaris and has given her the ability to control water in all its forms. While he at first seems unusually calm for a demon his temperament is extremely fickle and much like the element he reigns over he can go from quiet stream to crashing through one like a tidal wave to wipe out whatever pisses him off. Lily still struggles with keeping Apollinaris in check and if she loses her cool she often loses control of her him and her powers.

- do normal people know about this or is this some underground shit goin' on funded by the gov to make them quiet? what are the views on the possessed? necessary evil? gross and dirty? etc

There is no cure, only treatment, once you're possessed you're Doomed. You can, however, learn to control your demon-god! Which is where the school comes in.

you could adapt the powers into like... a single one for the specific demon-god. how's that?
